Terms of Use for AutoCut

These terms apply to your use of the AutoCut app, provided by Thinkbyte SRL ("we"). They supplement Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement. If the two conflict, Apple's agreement governs your license to the app.

1. The service

AutoCut is a video editor. Manual editing, captions and exports are free. AI Edit is metered in minutes of raw source footage analyzed. Every Apple Account gets a one-time free allowance of 15 minutes (deleting and recreating an account does not reset it), and paid plans add a monthly allowance. Unused monthly minutes don't roll over. If a run fails before the AI starts working, its minutes are returned automatically.

2. Subscriptions

  • Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
  • Manage or cancel in your iPhone's Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
  • If a free trial is offered, any unused part of it is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.

3. Your content

You keep all rights to the videos, audio and text you create or import. You grant us only the limited permission needed to process your content when you run AI features, as described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for having the rights to what you edit and publish, including music, likenesses and trademarks.

4. AI results

AI Edit suggests cuts automatically, and it can make mistakes. For example, it may drop a line you wanted or keep a weaker take. Always review the result before publishing. Every AI edit can be undone in the editor.

5. Acceptable use

Don't use AutoCut to create unlawful, infringing, hateful, harassing or sexually exploitative content. Don't use it to deceive people with manipulated media of real people without their consent. Don't attempt to circumvent usage limits, reverse engineer our backend, or access it other than through the app. We may suspend AI features for accounts that break these rules.

6. Availability

We work to keep AI Edit available but don't guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue AI Edit while your subscription is active, you can request a refund from Apple.

7. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, the app is provided "as is". We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost content. Keep backups of important footage. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law.
